Hibiscus · Stinging Nettle · Chamomile Beautiful for your hair. Beautiful enough to drink. Sometimes the simplest rituals are the loveliest. Our Botanical Hair Rinse is nothing more complicated than a carefully chosen blend of hibiscus, stinging nettle and chamomile — three beautiful herbs traditionally valued for both hair and whole-body wellness. Brew it just as you would a pot of herbal tea. Allow it to steep, strain and cool, then slowly pour the infusion through freshly washed hair and over the scalp. And yes — you can drink it too. In fact, that is exactly what we do at home. Make a generous pot, pour some into a cup to enjoy, and allow the rest to cool for your hair. One botanical infusion. Two beautiful rituals. Why these three herbs? Hibiscus The gorgeous ruby colour of the infusion comes largely from hibiscus and its naturally occurring anthocyanin pigments. For hair & scalp: Hibiscus has a long tradition of use in botanical hair preparations. We love it for helping hair feel beautifully conditioned and soft, while adding lustre and life to dull-looking hair. Its naturally acidic character also makes it particularly lovely as a finishing rinse. For the body: Hibiscus is naturally rich in colourful plant compounds, including anthocyanins and other polyphenols with antioxidant activity. Hibiscus tea has also been studied for its potential support of healthy blood pressure, blood lipids and glucose metabolism. And, of course, it gives the tea its wonderfully tart, fruity character and deep ruby colour. Stinging Nettle Perhaps one of the most underrated herbs in the garden, nettle has been used as both food and traditional herbal medicine for generations. For hair & scalp: Nettle is traditionally used in herbal hair preparations to support a healthy scalp and strong, healthy-looking hair. It makes a wonderful herbal rinse for hair that feels tired, dull or in need of a little botanical nourishment. For the body: Once dried or cooked, the rather unfriendly sting disappears and nettle becomes an exceptionally interesting food herb. The leaves contain naturally occurring **minerals, carotenoids, amino acids, flavonoids and phenolic compounds** and have been valued traditionally as a nourishing spring tonic. It gives our tea its wonderfully earthy, green herbal note. Chamomile Soft, gentle chamomile balances the more robust nettle and tart hibiscus beautifully. For hair & scalp: Chamomile has a long history of topical use and is particularly lovely in a gentle scalp rinse. Traditionally it has also been used to enhance the appearance of lighter hair and bring out natural golden highlights. We include it to create a softer, more soothing botanical infusion — particularly lovely when the scalp feels dry or delicate. For the body: Chamomile has been enjoyed as a herbal tea for centuries. It is perhaps best loved as a quiet evening herb and has traditionally been used to support relaxation and digestive comfort. Its delicate floral flavour also rounds off the sharper hibiscus beautifully. How to use it for your hair Add approximately 2 tablespoons of the herbal blend to 1 litre of hot water**. Cover and steep for 20–30 minutes, then strain well and allow the infusion to cool completely. After washing your hair as normal, slowly pour the cooled herbal tea over your scalp and through the lengths of your hair. Gently massage the scalp and squeeze the infusion through the hair. Leave in for a few minutes for a little extra botanical goodness, or simply allow your hair to dry naturally. No need to rinse it out. Or simply make yourself a cup Prepare it exactly as you would any loose herbal tea. Strain into your favourite cup and enjoy it warm — beautifully ruby-red, gently tart and herbaceous. You can add a little honey if you prefer something sweeter. Brew it. Sip it. Pour it through your hair. No synthetic fragrance. No silicones. No complicated formulation. Just three beautiful herbs and hot water — proof that sometimes the very best kind of self-care is remarkably simple.
